![]() It comes with the original piano bench which opens to hold music and books (same color, same wood). It is a 1953 Lester piano - the model is the Betsy Ross Spinet #239371. I need to make space in my home and that is why I am selling this family treasure. I played it more when I was growing up and then I got into other instruments once I became an adult. ![]() The piano has always been in homes - climate controlled living rooms and it has not been moved much (only twice in over 50 years). It has been about six years since it was last tuned (I no longer play it) and I was told that this is the type of piano that needs to be tuned in stages (can't stretch the strings too tight all at once). It was appraised by for $1450.00 when fully tuned. I am selling the piano for $900 or best offer. It is in great condition - in fact, the last time it was tuned, the piano tuner mentioned that due to its being in such excellent condition, that if I ever wanted to sell it, that he would love to know about it first. This beautiful instrument has been in the family for all its life, well taken care of and loved. Information - Concerts, News,FAQs, Archives. ![]() Organs - Electronic (B3 etc.), Pipe, Theatre. The tuner stated it was not worth fixing those ( no idea if there are plastic elbows) but he has replaced some strings and a few pads. ![]() Two of the bass keys either stick or just don't play. It holds its tuning but then again it is a spinet so it is tinny. Because of the humidity, there is a 1.5 inch area where the wood warped on a corner seam. It is in fair shape considering it was first moved from Massachusetts to Virginia in 1987 and then to Maine in 1991. It has served a couple of generations well but I am deciding whether or not to sell it, give it away/burn it ( ivory keys and all) or move it across country for my eldest who " thinks" he wants it. My question is regarding the Lester serial #317397 which based on my lurking, was made in 1960. ![]() I bought a Hailun 151 today over a Yamaha/Kawai ( yes $$ was a factor). Hi everyone! I have been lurking here for a few weeks for information. ![]()
